Storm To Bring Snow, Wintry Mix Back To CT: Here's What You Need To Know

Some areas of Connecticut could see snow accumulation on Monday. Here are the new details on a wintry-type weather forecast.

CONNECTICUT — If you've been outside Sunday, you know winter has made its return as cold temperatures and strong wind gusts dominate.

And that winter-feel will continue into Monday morning, as interior sections of southern Connecticut and northern Connecticut may start off as some snow before changing over to plain rain. Areas along the immediate coast will only see rain from the next system.

"A storm system arrives Monday, at first as a wintry mix or briefly snow across some parts of inland CT and rain elsewhere," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Slushy accumulation will be possible, especially on grassy and elevated surfaces in the higher elevations. Any mixing inland will flip to all rain late AM as a warm front lifts north and milder air moves in. Due to mainly wet travel conditions, reduced visibility, and the need to travel slower than usual, we have declared Monday morning a First Alert Weather Day."

The snow and rain should end during the afternoon hours Monday, but it will be cold with temperatures only in the upper 40s, according to WFSB 3 TV.

More rain showers are possible on Wednesday, clouds dominate Thursday and sunny skies return on Friday with temperatures into the upper 50s, according to WFSB 3 TV. (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
