CT Weather: Initial Snow Accumulation Estimates Released For Next Storm

Do you enjoy snow? If so, here's some good news for you.

In a Saturday update, it appears parts of Connecticut may see "measurable snow," on Tuesday, but rain is also forecast to mix in, which should limit snow accumulation for most of the state.

"Our Next BIG Thing surrounds rain and *snow* on Tuesday the 2nd!" said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "New data suggest measurable snow in parts of Connecticut, especially across NW CT. As the storm tracks south of us, we expect a transition to wintry mix and eventually plain rain. While there is a lot of uncertainty in terms of the exact track, timing and impacts, we’ve declared a *First Alert Weather Day* for this timeframe of interest."

It's beginning to feel like winter this weekend

"Sunday is a *First Alert Weather Day* as rain moves in, impacting travel for those returning from Thanksgiving weekend plans! The day begins with an overcast sky and temperatures will be climbing into the mid and upper 40s. By noon, rain starts to build in, with some snow possible in the higher elevations of NW CT (no accumulation expected). Periods of rain, heavy at times, will continue through the afternoon and evening. Hydroplaning and reduced visibility will be possible on the roads. Drier air will follow, bringing rain to an end late Sunday evening," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
