Accumulating Snow Returns To Parts Of CT: Here's What You Need To Know
It's definitely not a spring forecast for Connecticut, as parts of the state are expected to wake up to snow on the ground Friday.
CONNECTICUT — Are you ready for snow? Despite the calendar being April 10, we're talking about the chance of some minor snow accumulation in parts of Connecticut Thursday night.
The WFSB 3 TV weather map reveals up to two inches of snow in Litchfield County and between a half to an inch of snow in northern Connecticut.
The higher elevation areas of southern Connecticut may receive a coating of snow, while it will be a cold rain for the rest of us across southern Connecticut.

Timeline for snow and rain Thursday night/Friday morning
"Isolated showers develop after sunset," said WFSB 3 TV forecasters. "While most will see light rain, some snow may mix in, particularly in the northern half of the state. There could be a few impacts as some accumulation is possible throughout the higher elevations of NW and NE CT, maybe an inch or two of snow there."

The rain/snow showers will end Friday morning.
"Thankfully, given the sun angle this time of year, any snow that was able to stick will melt rapidly," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.
And more rain Friday night and this weekend
"By tomorrow evening, rain will become steady. Heavier rain arrives overnight, unfortunately impacting the weekend," WFSB 3 TV forecasters said. "....The outlook for the upcoming weekend continues to evolve, though the trend is clear: rain is likely on Saturday. Where the heaviest falls and when it all moves through is still a little uncertain. At this time, at least 0.50″ of rain looks likely, though higher amounts are certainly possible. It will come down to the development of an area of low pressure to our south, and how it moves relative to CT. While there may be uncertainty in the rainfall amounts, we are confident in a chilly rain on Saturday along with a breeze." (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
We can expect cold temperatures and strong wind gusts on Saturday too. Sunday will be more dry.
