"Since June 1st there have been 19 weekends, and there has been rain (at some point over the 2-day period) on 14 of them!" wrote WFSB 3 TV Chief Meteorologist Mark Dixon with Scot Haney. "As of now, we’ll make that 15 out of 20 as another round of rain appears likely next weekend as a coastal low develops and plagues us with more wet weather. There are model differences in timing and amounts, which is to be expected this far out....Currently, rain appears to ramp up as Saturday progresses. Ideally, it will begin AFTER the Hartford Marathon races happening that morning. At this point, the unsettled weather continues into Sunday with ongoing scattered showers. Both days will be cool, with high temperatures in the 50s. There are some indications the weekend storm system will be slow to exit. If this comes to fruition, we can expect shower to linger into Monday of next week." (Watch/read more at WFSB 3 TV).
The National Weather Service said the storm should "pass to our south sometime Saturday night into Sunday. Rain becomes likely across the region on Saturday and remains likely into at least Sunday morning. Timing is still somewhat uncertain, but it appears so far that the overall highest chances of rain would be Saturday night....The pressure gradient tightens with the surface low passing to the south, so Saturday night and Sunday could be quite breezy, particularly over coastal sections."

The weather service is initially predicting up to 2.5 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts possible. Since this would occur over a relatively long duration of time, the overall chances of flash flooding do not look high, the weather service said.
