Timeline For Thunderstorms Released: Here's When, What To Know In Connecticut

CONNECTICUT — There is a chance of thunderstorms across the state Tuesday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Storms are possible after 4 p.m. and up until 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Thunderstorms may be accompanied by 30 mph wind gusts too.

"In the wake of the cold front that cleared CT this morning, lingering instability aloft will lead to the development of isolated showers (perhaps a thunderstorm) during the afternoon hours," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Otherwise, it’s breezy and we’ll see more clouds than sun with temps remaining mild, reaching the 60s. Once we get to sunset, and lose peak heating, any showers should diminish. Tomorrow will be windier (gusts near 30 mph)...

The National Weather Service said, "Modest instability will allow scattered showers and thunderstorms to form by the afternoon. Some storms will be capable of producing small hail or graupel, however, severe weather is not expected."

Once the storms move on, cooler weather follows on Wednesday, with high temperatures only around 50 degrees. Warmer weather is forecast on Thursday and Friday, with sunshine and temperatures around 60 degrees.

Saturday is cloudy, warm and there is a chance of showers, but Sunday looks good with sunshine and temperatures in the low 60s.
