"While there are currently no Air Quality alerts in effect for CT, that could change if wildfire smoke becomes more prevalent at lower levels of the atmosphere. If this becomes the case, some may be able to smell the smoke, and it cause issues for those in sensitive groups," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists."

"Essentially plan for a wet first half of the weekend, with a period of steady rain that could be heavy at times," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "During the later afternoon and early evening hours, as a cold front pushes through the state, we can’t rule out a thunderstorm or two. After sunset, lingering rain will end. For now, the rain doesn’t appear exceptionally heavy with 0.5 to 1.0″ (locally more) falling over at least a 12-hour period (so flooding is not a major concern). Temperature-wise, expect highs between 65 and 70 (closer to normal for this time of year). Sunday, cloudiness remains through the morning with brightening through the afternoon hours. It will also be breezy and cooler with highs in the upper 50s (our *1* day below average over the next 7 days)." (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
