Hazardous Weather Outlook, Weather Watches Issued As Major Storm To Hit CT
A timeline and new details have been released concerning a strong storm that will produce significant impacts on our weather for two days.
CONNECTICUT — We just can't seem to string together several days of great weather. After a splendid weather day on Thursday, we're back to heavy rain and flooding concerns. There is a chance of thunderstorms but none are forecast to be severe.
Flood warnings are still in effect for the Connecticut River at Hartford and points downstream, according to WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "While minor flooding is occurring, levels have crested and are receding; however, more rain today will keep the flood threat going into the weekend," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said.

Rain should begin in earnest in the late morning hours. "From midday through the evening commute, we expect periods of rain -- at times heavy -- renewing the threat of flooding (especially since the ground is saturated from recent rounds of rain). Outdoor plans will certainly be impacted. With the cloudy and wet weather, also onshore flow, highs will only be in the 50s. A Flood Watch has been issued for the whole state through tonight, it’s by then the bulk of the rain will be ending and 1-3″ could add up in parts of CT! Provided this, poor drainage/low-lying flooding will be possible. Furthermore, smaller streams and creeks could rise; eventually, larger rivers swell," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. The rain is expected to stick around through the morning hours on Saturday before better weather arrives. Mother's Day looks great with sun and temperatures around 70 degrees.

Minor street and nuisance flooding is possible, but flash flooding is unlikely."
Windham County: A flood watch has been issued.
