40 MPH Wind Gusts, Lots Of Rain Forecast For CT: Here's What To Know

CONNECTICUT — Residents looking forward to warm spring-like weather will have to wait a few days.

Forecasters say some areas of the state, particularly higher elevations in Litchfield County, may even see frozen precipitation today, though without any significant accumulation.

Most of the state on Monday will experience periods of rain, with clouds and temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s.

While Connecticut residents will see some sun come Tuesday, expect windy days and colder than normal temperatures for the first half of the work week, according to WFSB.

A cold front arrives on Tuesday, bringing wind gusts “potentially over 40 mph at times throughout the day,” WFSB meteorologists reported.

“That will make below average highs in the middle and upper 40s feel more like 20s and 30s,” according to WFSB.

Temperatures will become more spring-like starting on Thursday, with more sun in the forecast, and highs in the mid-50s, which could rise to around 60 by Sunday, the station reported.

The average high in April for Greater Hartford is around 58 degrees, according to the U.S. Climate Data website.

The state may experience overnight frost this week, according to the National Weather Service.
