Four-Part Series 'The Two Connecticuts

The University of Hartford’s Presidents’ College and the Office of Diversity and Community Engagement, The Third Age Initiative a program of Leadership Greater Hartford, and The Connecticut Mirror will be hosting a four-part series called “The Two Connecticuts: Conversations about Race and Place.”

The first session will be held on Wednesday, September 22 virtually from 7-8:15 p.m.

This series, according to organizers, was put together to examine the effects of segregation and how it hurt people of color – depriving them of personal dignity, economic opportunity and access to healthcare and safety.

During the four free sessions, panels of informed experts will examine racism that surrounds those in Connecticut, in housing, schools and the structure of government. The session will explore the disparities that exist in the state. There will be discussions about initiatives enacted in other states and proposed here in Connecticut.

The final three sessions will be held on Wednesdays, October 20, November 10 and December 8 at Wilde Auditorium, University of Hartford. The Resource Tables will be at 6:30 p.m. and the program will be from 7-8:15 p.m.
