Hurricane Lee's Expected Impacts On CT Revealed: Timeline, Here's What To Know
The National Weather Service and local forecasters have shared what impacts they believe Hurricane Lee will have on Connecticut.

CONNECTICUT — For more than a week, we've been urged to keep a close eye on the track of powerful Hurricane Lee.
Forecasters have been consistent in saying Lee would never be a direct hit for Connecticut, but the question centered on whether the storm would cause any impacts for us.
Lee is forecast to begin to cause impacts to portions of New England beginning on Friday, according to the latest update from the National Hurricane Center.

"There is an increasing risk of wind, coastal flooding, and rain impacts from Lee in portions of New England and Atlantic Canada beginning on Friday and continuing through the weekend," the National Hurricane Center said on "X" — the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
Lee is forecast to pass far enough east of Connecticut, which would keep impacts to a minimum. Areas in southeast Connecticut would see the most impacts.

If you scan the National Weather Service forecast for Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Connecticut, you'd think it was going to be a pretty nice weekend.
The weather service says Connecticut is forecast to see partly sunny skies on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with temperatures into the 70s. The only tip off that a strong storm is forecast to be nearby is they do say it will be "Breezy" on both Saturday and Sunday.
The weather service said Connecticut should see the "strongest winds associated with Lee" on Friday night and Saturday "as the hurricane passes well east."
"The hurricane`s wind field will be expanding in size as it moves northward, and winds especially across coastal SE CT and eastern Long Island could become strong, sustained 25-30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph possible," the weather service said. "Can`t rule out tropical storm force winds in those areas right near the shoreline in areas with a good NW-N exposure."
Portions of southeast Connecticut may also see some light rain due to Lee, the weather service said.
WFSB 3 TV's Meteorologists Predict Lee's Impacts On CT
WFSB 3 TV Meteorologists Mark Dixon and Jill Gilardi said, "Lee will not be making landfall in CT or even Cape Cod, but the outer bands will make it this far west. On Friday, as the center of Lee lifts north, paralleling the East Coast, we’ll see cloud cover increase, and the wind will become breezier."
"Saturday will be cloudier, showery east, and windier. Wind gusts will range from 35-45 mph, and could possibly lead to isolated/sporadic power outages," Dixon and Gilardi said. "Don’t leave any loose items outdoors. During the morning hours, communities over the eastern half of the state will have the highest likelihood of receiving .10-.20″ of rain and the strongest wind gusts. Coastal flooding, erosion, etc. do not appear to be an issued based on the northeast wind direction as Lee passes by." (Watch/read more at WFSB 3 TV).
