Lebanon Resident Run Over By Empty Vehicle: FD
The resident was seriously injured in the accident, according to fire officials.
LEBANON, CT — A local resident suffered serious injuries Tuesday when an unoccupied vehicle began rolling and hit them, according to fire officials.
The Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department said they were dispatched to the scene around 5:38 p.m.. The accident happened on Bush Hill Road.
A homeowner was working on a vehicle in the driveway when the vehicle began to roll away, according to the fire department. The homeowner attempted to stop the vehicle from rolling. The individual fell and was then run over by the vehicle, officials said.

Firefighters described the victim’s injuries as “significant,” but indicated the individual is expected to survive.
The victim was taken to a local trauma center by LifeStar helicopter.

In a separate incident, fire crews responded at 1:48 a.m. Wednesday to Lebanon Middle School for a Fire Alarm Activation. On arrival, LVFD units found a smoke condition inside the building.
"The incident was upgraded to a structure fire response, bringing mutual aid units to town to assist," officiaisl said. "Quick actions by our LVFD units knocked a small fire down located in a room. The fire was confined to the room of origin with no extension. Units vented out the building of smoke and checked for any additional hazards in the air with our meters. Once the building was completely cleared, the scene was turned back over to the Lebanon Schools and Lebanon Fire Marshals office."
Fire officials are investigating the fire and it appears to be accidental at this time, officials said.
