New Bristol Eatery Draws Crowds
The Hibachi Buffet restaurant launched on March 12 in a local shopping plaza.

BRISTOL, CT — The new Hibachi Buffet restaurant opened for business on Wednesday and is already attracting crowds of customers.
On Sunday evening, there was a line of patrons outside the eatery waiting to get inside.
Audrey Chen, the owner, said on Monday the restaurant “has been packed.”

“I think there is overdemand for this type of restaurant,” Chen said. “We hope it will continue and we will be a success.”
The restaurant, at 99 Farmington Ave., is in Bristol Commons, a plaza which has multiple businesses, such as The Paper Store, a GNC, and Planet Fitness.

The newly-renovated business features a buffet with Japanese, Chinese, and American food.
Sushi, crabmeat with cheese, cocktail shrimp, grilled salmon, hibachi chicken, chicken wings, pork chops, spring rolls, noodles, baked potatoes, green beans, pizza, ice cream and pastries are a sampling of the items offered.
The staff is adjusting to meet the high demand, and Chen said she wants customers to have an enjoyable experience.
“We weren’t expecting it to be like this,” Chen said, of the first week's turnout. “It has been good, and we want people to come back.”
The business is open 7 days a week starting at 11 a.m. It closes at 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and at 9:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Lunch runs from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with dinner from 3:30 p.m. to closing. The adult price for the all-you-can-eat dinner buffet is $17.99 all week, though this drops to $13.99 for lunch on weekdays. Prices vary for children, and discounts are available for seniors aged 65-plus and the military.
