Outpouring Of Support Comes In For Teen Crash Victim's Family
A teen who died in a dirt bike crash is being remembered as "a loving son, a protective big brother, and a joyful presence."
HEBRON, CT — The community is coming to the aid of a family grieving the loss of a 14-year-old boy.
Erik Brooker, a freshman at RHAM High School in Hebron, died in a dirt bike crash on Sunday evening.
He was riding a Honda CRF150 on Burnt Hill Road at 5:25 p.m. when he lost control of the bike while negotiation a turn, state police said.

He went off the side of the road, striking a rocky embankment, and was thrown from the bike. He died due to his injuries.
A GoFundMe was started by Elizabeth Munro for the teen's family. Munro is the cousin of Erik's mother, April.

"(Erik) was a loving son, a protective big brother, and a joyful presence in the lives of everyone who knew him. His sudden passing has left a deep void in our hearts," she wrote. "April, her daughter, and Erik’s soon-to-be stepdad are now facing the heartbreaking reality of life without him."
The donations are going toward funeral service and burial costs, memorial arrangements, and support for the family in the days ahead.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the fundraiser had generate $12,695 on 186 donations.
