Plane Suffers Mechanical Failure, Makes Emergency Landing In Connecticut

LIME ROCK, CT — One person was injured after a plane was forced to make an emergency landing on Saturday afternoon, Lime Rock Park officials said.
At about 1 p.m. Saturday, a small aircraft, a Cessna 172, experienced a mechanical failure and was forced to make an emergency landing at Lime Rock Park, crashing into the Armco near Turn 6, officials said.
Two individuals were on board. The pilot was uninjured. The passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, officials said.

Lime Rock Park corner workers immediately reported the emergency, and the Lime Rock Park safety crew responded to contain a small fuel leak. Local fire department units also responded for further assistance.
