Softball Teams From Across Connecticut Qualify For CIAC Tournaments
Among the 114 teams which will be competing for state softball championships are 35 from schools in Hartford and Tolland counties.

CONNECTICUT — For the next two weeks, the eyes of more than 100 high school softball teams in the Nutmeg State will be focused on one goal - making it to Burrill Family Field at the University of Connecticut, which will host the CIAC championship games for the second straight year on June 8.
Prior to that date, however, there will be thousands of pitches tossed and swings taken, as well as, to quote the legendary ABC's Wide World of Sports, "the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat."
Among the 114 squads which qualified for state tournament competition are 35 teams from schools in Hartford and Tolland counties. One of those schools, Coventry, seeks to add a second consecutive Class S title to its trophy case.
