CONNECTICUT — A strong storm system is expected to impact Connecticut on Sunday evening, bringing heavy rain and strong winds just as the weekend winds down.

Storm Details

According to WFSB 3 TV meteorologists:

  • Timing: Heavy rain is expected Sunday night.
  • Wind Gusts: Winds could reach or exceed 40 mph.
  • Rainfall: Most communities will see 0.5 to 1.0 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts possible.

“As the front gets closer Sunday, the wind gets stronger, and temps go even higher,” WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. “Outside of an isolated shower, it’s not until after sunset that the likelihood for steadier (perhaps heavier) rain increases (as the front arrives). This is also when we anticipate wind gusts to reach or even exceed 40 mph.”
