Thief Swipes State Vehicle, Crashes Into Police Cruiser: Police
One person has been taken into custody, according to state police.
NEW BRITAIN, CT — A stolen state vehicle crashed into a state police cruiser Wednesday afternoon.
No state police personnel were injured in the collision.
Around 2:37 p.m., state troopers with Troop H were dispatched to the New Britain office of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families for a report of a stolen state vehicle, police said.

Police were able to track the vehicle, and when they found it, the driver collided with the cruiser, according to police.
Troopers later found the stolen vehicle abandoned in New Britain.

A suspect has been taken into custody with assistance from the New Britain Police Department, police said.
State police as of Thursday morning had not released the suspect’s identity or the charges.
