"A round of strong to severe storms will move through southern New England late in the day Saturday, mainly for interior locations. The main threats are damaging winds, hail, and even a tornado," the weather service said concerning northern Connecticut.
And in southern Connecticut, the weather service said, "Showers and thunderstorms are expected on Saturday with an approaching cold front. Some of the storms may become severe, moving west to east across the area, with the greatest chance of severe weather from noon to 8pm. The main threat is from damaging wind gusts, but an isolated tornado and isolated hail (~1" in diameter) cannot be ruled out."
Unsettled weather continues into Sunday
Rain is expected to persist into the first half of the day on Sunday, according to National Weather Service meteorologists.
WFSB predicts Sunday will be cooler and less humid, with showers in the morning. Precipitation may linger into the early afternoon Sunday, followed by gradually clearing skies, according to WFSB.
Next week will bring “dry and bright” weather to Connecticut, reports WFSB, which anticipates sunshine and afternoon highs of between 70 and 75 degrees starting Monday.
