I am an existing US Marine Avon VFW post # 3272member, Bob Skeels, that feels privileged in being just another able to honor ALL these proud present and past war veteran brothers members as they just completed celebrating their outstanding 80 year history (1945-2025) through a 80th anniversary commemorative issue magazine and highly attended anniversary Gala dinner at the Farmington Woods clubhouse on November 15,2025. A special huge “thank you” for this outstanding evening program to the Avon post commander, Jerry Stinson, and for his leadership in forming the outstanding 80th magazine committee made up of Post members : Bill Samol, Brian O’Donnell, Tim Healy and Pete Savion. It was also on great honor on this evening to have very highly regarded four-star Army retired general, General George W. Casey Jr. visit our post once again as a head table guest and most valued program speaker. Avon VFW Post #3272 has always been seen as a premier Connecticut VFW post and it’s proud members value the opportunity to continue to strengthen the Avon community in insuring legacy remembrances and inspiring Americanism, American values and the rewards of patriotic service to this great nation.
