AVON, CT — Local Boy Scouts are, once again, willing to take those piles of redeemable bottles and cans off your hands for the benefit of the community.

Avon Boy Scout Troop 274 is hosting a bottle and can drive Saturday, June 7, at the West Avon Congregational Church, 280 Country Club Road, Avon.

From 8 to 11:30 a.m., scouts will be unloading redeemable bottles and cans from vehicles and then getting them recycled.

"No more waiting in line to return them or dealing with full or broken machines," wrote the troop. "Scouts will do all that for you."

Proceeds from the collection will help Avon scouts attend "High Adventure" scout camps this summer.
