Avon Issues Cold Weather Protocols As Storm Bears Down On CT
Severe cold weather is expected as well as a snowstorm, Friday into the weekend.

AVON, CT — With a blast of arctic temperatures forecast over the next several days, Gov. Ned Lamont has activated the state's severe weather protocol through 10 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28.
Accordingly, the town reminds the public that warming centers are available at the Avon Senior Center and the Avon Free Public Library during normal business hours as follows:

Hours: Friday, Dec. 26, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.

If residents need protection from the extreme cold when warming centers are not available, call non-emergency dispatch at 860-409-4200, and the town will make arrangements to provide you with access to a warming facility
