The <a href="https://e-clubhouse.org/sites/avonct/index.php" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Avon Lions Club</a> is hosting its annual carnival at 99 Thompson Road, Avon, from Friday, Aug. 8, through Sunday, Aug. 10. Highlighting the event is a fireworks show at 9:15 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8. The carnival itself will take place Friday, Aug. 8, from 6 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 9, from 3 to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 10, from noon to 5 p.m. It will be chock-full of carnival rides, games, and that yummy carnival food folks look forward to this time of year. Admission to the event is free, but ride tickets are $2 for a single ticket (rides are generally 304 tickets), with a sheet of 21 tickets costing $35. In addition, special wrist bands for unlimited rides are also $35. It should be noted that ticket sales are cash only. Even proceeds benefit the club, which supports many civic causes locally.
