Avon Lions Carnival Promises Three Days Of Family Fun

The Avon Lions Club Carnival, slated for Aug. 8-10, will raise money for the club and the causes it supports.

AVON, CT — One of the town's more prominent civic organizations is hosting a fundraising community celebration this weekend.

The Avon Lions Club is hosting its annual carnival at 99 Thompson Road, Avon, from Friday, Aug. 8, through Sunday, Aug. 10.

Highlighting the event is a fireworks show at 9:15 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8.

The carnival itself will take place Friday, Aug. 8, from 6 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 9, from 3 to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 10, from noon to 5 p.m.

It will be chock-full of carnival rides, games, and that yummy carnival food folks look forward to this time of year.

Admission to the event is free, but ride tickets are $2 for a single ticket (rides are generally 304 tickets), with a sheet of 21 tickets costing $35. In addition, special wrist bands for unlimited rides are also $35.

It should be noted that ticket sales are cash only.

Even proceeds benefit the club, which supports many civic causes locally.
