Avon School Board Welcomes Birk as New Member
Three incumbents were also re-elected in November.
The Avon Board of Education welcomed new board member Kenneth S. Birk (R) at its first regular meeting of the New Year Tuesday.
Chairperson Peggy Roell (R) and board members Katharine Zirolli (R) and Jay Spivak (D) were re-elected to another term in the fall municipal election.
Roell was chosen by her peers to serve again as chair, Zirolli was voted to be the vice chair and sitting board member Wendy Howard (D) will serve as the secretary.
Birk fills the seat William Stokesbury vacated when he stepped down as a newly elected member of the Town Council.
All four have been sworn into their new terms.
