Avon Announces Holiday Openings/Closings

AVON, CT — 'Tis the season to kick back, relax, and enjoy the holiday season.

And with that come closed schools, closed municipal offices, and general changes in operations hours this time of year.

To that end, Avon has announced its openings/closings schedule for the Christmas and New Year's holidays. They include:

• For Wednesday, Dec. 24, Avon Town Hall, the Avon Senior Center, and Avon Public Works will close at 12:30 p.m. The Avon Free Public Library will close at 1 p.m.

• For Thursday, Dec. 25, the town hall, library, senior center, and public works will be closed.

• For Friday, Dec. 2, the town hall, library, senior center, and public works will be open regular hours.

• For Wednesday, Dec. 31, the town hall, library, senior center, and public works will close at 12:30 p.m. The library will close at 1 p.m.

• For Thursday, Jan. 1, the town hall, library, senior center, and public works will be closed.

• For Friday, Jan. 2, the town hall, library, senior center, and public works will be open regular hours.

• For Avon Public Schools, winter recess starts Wednesday, Dec. 24, with classes resuming as normal on Monday, Jan. 5.
