Another goal is to make the zoning regulations "a bit more user friendly," wrote the town.
As a result, they will now contain a new 'Use Chart' to make the regulations easier to use.
In addition, the zoning regulations will also include rules for affordable housing developments which have been approved in Avon.
The final draft will be made available to the public as soon as the public hearing date is set and will be located on the Planning and Community Development's web page.
Comments and/or questions from the public are welcome at the public hearing, which is required by law to be held before the adoption of the updated zoning regulations.
Any questions on the new zoning regulations should be directed to Avon Planning Department staff either in person or by calling 860-409-4328.
