Avon's Budget Season Starts Saturday, What You Need To Know
The Town of Avon this week released key dates regarding the upcoming 2025-26 budget process, which will determine tax bills this summer.

AVON, CT — The budget season isn't as exciting as, say, baseball season, football season, fair season, or the changing of the seasons.
But it is, perhaps, the season that most impacts a taxpayer's bank account and quality of life in the town they live in.

In Avon, town officials have recently issued an early roadmap of key dates in determining how Avon's tax dollars are spent and it all starts on Saturday.
According to the Town of Avon, the following are the key dates for 2025-26 budget preparation:

• The Avon Town Council budget work session to review the town manager's 2025-26 proposed budget will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 8 a.m. at the Avon Town Hall in the selectmen's chamber.
The budget work session will also be available to watch remotely. Virtual access instructions will be made available on the town council's web page this week under "Agendas."
• The annual budget public hearing regarding the proposed budget will be held on Monday, April 7, at 7 p.m. (location to be determined).
• The Avon Board of Finance budget workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. (location to be determined).
• The annual Avon Budget Meeting will be held on Monday, May 5, at 7 p.m. (location to be determined).
• The Avon Budget Referendum is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, with polls open from 6 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center.
