Avon's MLK Holiday Weekend Impacts: What You Need To Know
Monday is the holiday honoring Martin Luther King Jr., with several town and school impacts announced.
AVON, CT — Monday, Jan. 20, is the observed federal holiday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., with several municipal and school impacts announced regarding the holiday weekend.
Town offices, public works, the senior center, the landfill, and the Avon Free Public Library will be closed that day in observance of the holiday.
Avon officials said the library will be open on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, Jan. 19, from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Landfill will also be open regular hours on Saturday, Jan. 18.
In addition, Avon schools will be closed on Monday, with classes resuming as normal on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
