Craft Beer Brewery In Avon Closing For Good

The owners said the operation, which opened in 2017, will shutter at the end of the year.

AVON, CT — A well-known local brewery popular with craft beer enthusiasts is shuttering for good by the end of the month.

Last week, the owners of the Hopmeadow Brewing Co., located at 205 Old Farms Road, Avon, announced they were closing by the end of the year.

The operation featured on-site brewing of a variety of locally produced beers, as well as a taproom where guests could sample the brewery's offerings.

"We hope to see you this holiday season and would love to share a pint and celebrate the past, the present, and future endeavors."

No official reason for the closing was given in the announcement, but the owners told the Hartford Courant that high costs, thin profit margins, and issues with the brewery's landlord have fueled the decision to close.
