Proceeds go into the fund to help local and national charities. In the past the group has donated to causes and organizations like Avon Dollars for Scholars, Avon Free Public Library, Avon Social Services, Gifts of Love, Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation, Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes and Research Foundation.
Every year, the national leader of the Lions Club organization chooses a cause to back and this year's theme is education.
The pasta dinner is scheduled for Friday at 5 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center at 635 West Avon Rd. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children 5 to 12. Children 4 and under eat for free!
