Help Town Rid Avon Park Of Invasive Plants

The community is invited to a special event on Wednesday, June 11, to identify and rid a popular recreation site of invasive plant species.

AVON, CT — Local conservationists and recreation officials are organizing a special community event next week to rid a local park of invasive plant species.

The Farmington River Watershed Association is partnering with the Avon Recreation and Parks Department to host an invasive plant removal event at the Fisher Meadows Recreation Area.

Volunteers will learn how to identify and mechanically remove common invasive plant species.
