Jambalaya: Avon Church's Monthly Dinner Has Big Easy Feel

AVON, CT — A local church's monthly dinner event will take place this Friday, with the evening's menu taking on a New Orleans theme.

The monthly "First Friday Dinner" at Avon Congregational Church will feature that beloved, Big Easy favorite, jambalaya, as the main dish.

It will, take place at the church, 6 W. Main St., Avon, on Friday, June 5, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The tasty jambalaya will include shrimp, chicken, and sausage, served with Southwestern coleslaw and house-made cornbread.

Of course, the church will also feature its iconic dessert buffet, which just may be the monthly event's biggest culinary attraction.

Coffee and tea will be served as well.
