Patch: Tell us a bit about your business or organization:
Stephen Blake: Action Carpet & Floor Covering is a family owned business that serves the Farmington Valley. High quality installation for any and all types of flooring install, professional cleaning, hardwood sanding and refinishing, bathroom and kitchen remodeling and home renovations.

Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?
Stephen Blake: 34 years

Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Stephen Blake: We started off as a cleaning company and evolved into a residential/commercial flooring installation team. From selling flooring door to door, to having a beautiful showroom with all of our products on display. Eventually we expanded into home renovations, specializing in bathroom and kitchen remodeling.

Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
Stephen Blake: The most common advice we give is: “Don’t cut corners on installation.” The quality of your flooring materials matter, but the installation is what truly determines how long your floors will last and how good they’ll look over time. A high-end product installed poorly will never perform the way it should. We always encourage our customers to think long-term.
