Major Pride Celebration Slated In Avon On Thursday
The annual event is being hosted by a local church on Thursday evening from 4 to 7 p.m.

AVON, CT — A local church this week is hosting a major celebration of Pride Month this Thursday.
The fourth annual "Avon Pride Block Party" is set to take place on Thursday, June 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the West Avon Congregational Church, located at 280 Country Club Road, Avon.
"This vibrant, family-friendly event celebrates inclusion, unity, and pride while connecting the community with valuable local resources," reads an announcement.

Open to all and free to attend, the block party — organized by the church and the Avon Free Public Library — will be held rain or shine and features something for everyone.
Attendees can explore booths hosted by local organizations, including the Avon Free Public Library, Avon High School National Art Honor Society and Gay-Straight Alliance, PFLAG, Avon Youth Services Bureau, Interval House, Greater Hartford Wellness, Avon Senior Center, Friends for Equity, and Avon Cares, and more.

Festivities will include a bounce house, touch-a-truck experience, and an ice cream truck — plus plenty of food, giveaways, and interactive activities for all ages.
Returning by popular demand, the dazzling Connecticut drag queen Summer Orlando will take the stage and host a lively karaoke sing-along.
"The Avon Pride Block Party is more than just a celebration—it's a meaningful opportunity for all to come together in support of diversity, equity, and the LGBTQIA+ community," wrote event organizers.
