Phony Voter Registration Notices Sent To Avon Residents
The Town of Avon said the mailers appear to be from Texas and they falsely claim people are not registered to vote.
AVON, CT — Phony voter registration mailings from deep-red Texas are showing up in Avon, with local officials urging voters they are not from the town.
According to the Town of Avon, the mailing appears to notify residents that they're not registered to vote in Avon.
"This mailing was not sent by the Town of Avon," wrote town officials Monday. "It appears to have been sent by an organization out of Texas."

Officials urge folks to ignore the mailing and check with the town on their voter registration status or check via online resources.
