Prominent Avon Italian Eatery Fined, Suspended By State

The well-known restaurant was cited for selling alcohol to minors, among other violations, according to the state.

AVON, CT — A prominent Avon restaurant and tavern has been fined and suspended by the state for multiple violations of state statues regarding liquor sales and other violations.

The First & Last Tavern of Avon, located at 24-26 W. Main St., Avon, has been fined $3,500, which has been paid, and it will be suspended for one day on Sept. 5, according to the state Department of Consumer Protection's Liquor Control Division.

According to the state, the restaurant violated five different statues, including: recorded permit statutes; having a permit hung up in plain view; invoice violations; conduct of permit premises; and sales of alcohol to a minor.
