Several Avon Organizations Benefit From Grant Funding: UPDATE
The Avon Greater Together Community Fund recently doled out cash to 11 area nonprofits that help make the town better.

AVON, CT — A prominent benevolence foundation has issued funding aid to several Avon-area nonprofits to help them help the community,local officials recently announced.
The Avon Greater Together Community Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving recently announced that 11 area organizations will receive grants to fund programs and events aimed at improving the quality of life in Avon.

The 2025 awardees include: Farmington Valley Regional Juneteenth Committee; Gifts of Love; Greystone Foundation; Interval House; New England Ballet Theatre; Operation Fuel; Playhouse 44; Seniors Job Bank; Special Olympics CT; SpiritHorse Therapeutic Riding Center of Canton; and UR Community Cares.
“Our committee was excited to be able to fund so many local organizations doing such great
work,” said Haleigh Guerrera of the Avon Greater Together Community Fund Committee. “We
were able to fund the majority of our applicants, who, as a group,p are addressing an array of
needs, including basic needs, culture and arts, DEI, emergency services, health and wellness,
and senior support.”

Any nonprofit registered as a 501(c)(3) organization that serves the residents of Avon was
eligible to apply for these grants.
Individuals and for-profit businesses, as well as civic organizations that lack a 501(c)(3) IRS designation, were ineligible.
In 2019, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving established $100,000 in community funds for
each of the 29 towns in the foundation’s region, which includes Avon.
Since then, the fund has received another $150,000 totaling in an investment of $250,000.
