Special Children's Choir To Spread Message Of Hope At Avon Church
The Avon Congregational Church on Tuesday, Aug. 19, is hosting a performance from the Matsiko World Orphanage Choir, comprised of orphans.
AVON, CT — Folks are invited to a special musical program hosted by a unique group of singers in Avon on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
That's when the Matsiko World Orphanage Choir is performing a special concert at 7 p.m. at the Avon Congregational Church, 6 W. Main St., Avon.
While the concert is free, a suggested donation for the choir will be asked of guests.

The story of this group of singers is inspirational, according to an announcement of the event.
"The Matsiko World Orphan Choir has brought together our world’s orphaned and vulnerable children to share their story of turning the pain of loss, hunger, and hopelessness into personal empowerment through music, dance, and storytelling since 2008," reads the announcement.

According to the announcement, the organization works to break the cycle of poverty from which these children come and to help them avoid becoming prey to child trafficking through education and awareness.
"Please do what you can to bring every friend, family member, and neighbor to hear and support these ambassadors of hope," wrote event organizers.
