Volunteers Sought For Avon Theater Group's First Production

Behind-the-scenes help is being sought for 'Playhouse 44's' Aug. 9-11 performance of '9 Tens On 44.'

AVON, CT — The show will go on for Avon's fledgling "Playhouse 44" theater group.

But to help that first show go off without a hitch later this month, the group is looking for several volunteers to work behind the scenes.

A total of 21 actors and eight directors have been rehearsing nine short plays as part of "9 Tens on 44, " the first production of Playhouse 44, at Avon High School on Friday-Sunday, Aug. 9-11.

With their debut quickly approaching, Playhouse 44 is now seeking volunteers to help out at the ticket, service, and concession tables on one or more of these dates: Friday evening, Aug. 9, Saturday evening, Aug. 10, and Sunday afternoon, Aug. 11.

"As many people have discovered, there are many benefits of volunteering, including making new friends, having a good time, and helping to create something new, exciting, and worthwhile," wrote Playhouse 44 in a release.

Playhouse 44, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit that is looking for folks to join in.
