William Stokesbury Says Goodbye to Avon School Board, Prepares for Town Council
Between Board of Education regular, special and committee meetings and attending other town meetings, departing board member William Stokesbury has logged hundreds of hours on the school board.
So, it was only appropriate that his fellow board members gave him a clock to honor his time serving the town of Avon.
Stokesbury, who was vice chair of the board, is not finished as a town official. In January, he will join the Town Council. He was initially planning on running again for the Board of Education but was asked to run for the Town Council after the sudden passing of councilor Christopher May.
