Berlin Library's Popular Adult Summer Reading Program Kicks Off
The summer-long event, which kicked off Monday and continues to Aug. 28, essentially awards prize tickets for each book read.
BERLIN, CT — The Berlin-Peck Memorial Library's popular adult summer reading program kicked off this week and continues through Aug. 27.
There are many ways to participate, but essentially, the program rewards voracious readers with one virtual ticket per book.
Those tickets are, then, used in a variety of prize-packed raffles during the course of the summer and can also be redeemed for prizes later.

There is even a team component where teams of readers can pool their efforts for teamwide honors.
Meanwhile, the library — located at 234 Kensington Road, Berlin — even has prizes, just for signing up for the program.

The first 100 summer readers who visit the library on June 16 or later will receive a coupon for free Praline’s ice cream or a free Aroma Joe’s drink.
"Sign up before visiting the Reference Desk. If you haven’t signed up, a librarian can get you set up on a public computer to sign up," wrote the library online. Supplies are limited.
The Berlin-Peck Memorial Library website has an extensive page dedicated to the 2025 summer reading program, including links to sign up and participate.
