The America 250 | CT Commission, administered by CT Humanities, has been tasked with guiding this milestone in the state of Connecticut.

As part of that effort, Berlin residents are asked to donate to: https://www.give250ct.org/organizations/america-250-berlin, to support local events celebrating this "momentous anniversary."

"Your contribution will help the America 250 Berlin Steering Committee organize a variety of potential community activities," wrote the town.

Those including:

• A town-wide scavenger hunt

• A Theatre Guild production of 1776, featuring excerpts from the original Broadway musical

• A potential Yankee Peddler Day — with hopes of ending the day with fireworks.

In addition to local events, several statewide celebrations are planned, such as:

• July 4, 2026 – Nationwide Bell Ringing

• July 5, 2026 – America’s Potluck

• July 8, 2026 – The Spirit of America (nationwide readings of the Declaration of Independence)
