Berlin's 2026 MLK Holiday Weekend Impacts Announced

BERLIN, CT — This weekend is another holiday weekend, with several Connecticut towns paying homage to Martin Luther King Jr. on the holiday honoring the slain civil rights leader.

In Berlin, all municipal departments will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

This will, however, not impact the town's refuse/recycling collection schedule, which will operate as normal, town officials said.

Berlin Public Schools are also closed on Monday, Jan. 19, with classes resuming as normal the following day on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
