The National Weather Service has issued a “Freezing Rain Advisory” in effect from now until midnight for all of Hartford and Tolland counties.

* IMPACTS...DANGEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS. UNTREATED ROADS WILL BECOME SLICK AND SLIPPERY WITH ONLY A TRACE OF ICE ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES...OVERPASSES AND ANY OTHER ELEVATED PLATFORMS. SCATTERED DOWN TREE LIMBS AND/OR POWER LINES ARE ALSO POSSIBLE.

A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN OR FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS. SLOW DOWN AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
