23-Year-Old Bethel Man Arrested for DUI After Crash
The Bethel man reportedly crashed his vehicle into a concrete barrier in Dodgingtown, Newtown police said.
BETHEL, CT — Newtown police said they arrested a 23-year-old Bethel man on July 17 at 1:01 a.m. after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a concrete block and a parked car in Dodgingtown.

Kyle Merrick, 23, of Bethel was found by police at 1 Dodgingtown Road, the parking lot of Tambascio's Restaurant, intoxicated with marijuana in his vehicle, after the accident, Newtown police said. According to a report, Merrick told police he swerved to avoid an animal in the road and lost control of his vehicle.
Merrick was arrested for driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, restricted turn and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, according to the report.

He was given a bond of $100 and is due on court on Aug. 2, 2016.
