Bethel Selectmen to Run For Re-Election: Report

Both selectmen seek their fifth terms in office.

BETHEL, CT — First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker and Selectman Richard Straiton will be running for re-election in November, reports the News Times. Both announced their intentions at a kickoff party Saturday and are serving their fourth terms in office.

Both Knickerbocker and Straiton are Democrats, and indicated in a press release they hope to improve town services in their fifth terms. Knickerbocker served on the Board of Education for 10 years before assuming his current position in 2009.

Straiton is retired after 23 years as the Bethel Health Care and Rehabilitation Center's facility director.
