BREAKING: Some Trains Canceled After Car Crashes Into Railroad Crossing
BREAKING: Metro North has announced some trains on the Danbury line have been canceled due to a crash in the Bethel/Danbury area.
DANBURY, CT — A car crashed into a railroad crossing at the downtown train station near East Liberty Street and is causing delays on the Metro-North Danbury Branch line, the News Times reports. A Metro-North spokesperson told the paper that southbound trains from Danbury were not running as of 11 a.m. and Northbound trains are delayed.
Metro North tweeted the following updates on Tuesday:
"Danbury Branch Update: The 10:30AM train from Danbury - South Norwalk has been canceled. Cust's will take 12:03PM Substitute Bus Service. "
"Metro-North Railroad @MetroNorth 47m47 minutes ago Danbury Branch Customers should anticipate delays caused by a damaged grade crossing requiring attention in the vicinity of Bethel."
