Can You Spare $18.75 to Buy a Bethel Child a Winter Coat?
The Bethel Knights of Columbus recently launched the John Stocks Memorial 'Coats For Kids' drive to provide local kids with warm coats.
BETHEL, CT — A former Grand Knight of Bethel's Pavia 48 Knights of Columbus passed away last year but his memory lives on through the John Stocks Memorial Coats for Kids. "One of John's last requests at our council was to launch "Coats for Kids " in our area. Please help John's wish come true," the Knights said in a statement.
In 2009, the Knights of Columbus launched the coats initiative designed to keep kids warm in harsh winter climates in memory of their late brother who they said volunteered for and prayed for everything. Since the program’s inception, the Knights of Columbus in the United States and Canada has given away more than 200,000 coats to children in need.
For every $225 that is donated, 12 coats can be purchased for area kids— that's $18.75 per coat. Click here to donate or more information. The Fraternal Mission Department is available to answer any questions by calling 203-752-4625.
