BETHEL, CT — State Rep. Raghib Allie-Brennan has again been charged with larceny, according to a news release from the Bethel Police Department.

The 34-year-old lawmaker gave himself up in response to an active arrest warrant shortly after 1 p.m. on Monday, July 28, and was charged with sixth-degree larceny, police said.

The Bethel resident applied for the accelerated rehabilitation program shortly after his first arrest. Under this program, if first-time defendants successfully complete a period of probation, any charges against them are dismissed.

"This week I continued the process of cooperating fully and taking accountability for my past actions. I voluntarily reported to the Bethel Police Department on a date prearranged with my attorney and the chief of police," Allie-Brennan said in a statement released Tuesday morning. "This was another step in the legal process, which I am following. I take full responsibility and remain focused on moving forward and making this right."
