Monday, May 9, delegates who represent the 169 towns in Connecticut will gather together in Hartford to nominate our next Republican candidates for the U.S. Congress.

As many of you know, I withdrew from the race a few days ago. I did so in the spirit of unity. As fellow Republicans, we understand just how vital it is that we defeat Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty in 2016. In order to accomplish this goal, I believe we must rally around the candidate best positioned to do so at this time. Clay Cope is that candidate. As I have campaigned across the 5th District, I have had the pleasure of getting to know Clay. He runs a respectful campaign committed to upholding our constitutional principles.
