In Memory of Ana Italia Raquel Garcia Tapia, 82, of Bethel
She immigrated to the United States in 1967 before moving from Brooklyn to Bethel in 1985.

BETHEL, CT — Ana Italia Raquel Garcia Tapia, 82, of Bethel, wife of Jorge Tapia, died at her home on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. Mrs. Tapia was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, November 24, 1934, a daughter of Gustavo and Emperatriz (Cuello) Garcia. She immigrated to the United States in 1967 residing in Brooklyn, New York then moved in 1979 to Port Chester, NY and in 1985 she moved with her family to Bethel. Mrs. Tapia enjoyed the subject of history, cooking and reading; most especially her Bible and Prayer Books. She attended daily mass along with her husband and were daily communicants.
In addition to her husband of sixty years, Mrs. Tapia is survived by a son, Andres Tapia of Alexandria, VA; a daughter, Patricia J. Gursky (David) of Winsted, CT; her siblings, Gustavo Garcia and Victoria Garcia both of Portchester, NY; five grandchildren, Jessica Allen (William), Anthony Kostek, Sophia Tapia, Wolfe Tapia and Sonia Tapia and a great grandson, Elijah Allen.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury. Burial followed in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel.
